Second Duesseldorf Contemporary cancelled

Duesseldorf Contemporary, which premiered last April, announced that it was closing its doors.
The fair's organizers cited low sales, saying in a statement, "All indications are that art-market activity concentrates on a few art fairs with international and not just German significance."
Art fairs in Basel, Miami and London continue to grow every year while some smaller fairs are shrinking. The organizers of DC said they are exploring a consolidation with other art fairs.
